In the medieval and Renaissance eras, fragments were often allegorical, suggesting something broken off from a divine whole. They were survivals from an earlier era. Recently, I have discovered a series of polaroid captures taken some years ago. The meaning and context of these images have since been lost and forgotten. One thing is clear, that these fragments are all connected, in their own unique way, to represent something greater as a whole rather than to be understood individually. Some images are abstract, blurry, broken, distressed while others have natural and human shapes. They were meticulously arranged in a way that makes sense to me today, thus either creating a new meaning as a whole or trying to reconstruct their original, forgotten, intention.
