Bentanya’s Midnight Sun is a conceptual series of fine art photographs shot on location in Iceland during the month of summer solstice.
“Driving in Iceland I explored drastically changing landscapes formed over thousands of years through earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and geothermal activity. Iceland sits between US and European tectonic plates and is being torn apart as tectonic plates drift. I wanted to document this constant movement of surreal and beautiful scenery through motion capture. These landscapes are both minimal and complex. They vary in color, contrast, texture, mood and evoke a range of emotions reminiscent of impressionist paintings by Monet or Sisley.”
